The Solar Accelerated Transition Action Programme (GP/ST/No. 60/2025). Effective 1 January 2026 — replaces NEM 3.0 with self-consumption priority and export credits at Energy Charge / SMP rates.
Solar ATAP prioritises self-consumption and pays export credits for surplus energy at the Energy Charge rate for domestic customers, or the System Marginal Price for non-domestic customers, with capacity set by the Government and allocated first-come-first-served. Unlike the old NEM scheme, unused export credits do not carry forward — they are forfeited at the end of each billing cycle, which makes correct system sizing critical rather than optional. Domestic capacity is capped at 15 kW. Registration is handled by your installer as part of the TNB grid connection application through a SEDA-registered RPVSP, so homeowners do not apply to a separate government agency.
