What is Solar ATAP and how does it benefit me?
Solar ATAP (replaced NEM 3.0 in January 2026) allows you to export excess solar electricity to the TNB grid and earn credits at the Energy Charge rate (~RM0.218/kWh). A well-sized system can reduce your TNB bill to near zero. This is Malaysia's current official residential solar export scheme.
How long does installation take?
Physical installation takes 1–2 days for a residential system. The full process — from your quote to TNB commissioning — takes 4–8 weeks, which includes Solar ATAP application, meter upgrade, and TNB inspection. Trexon handles all paperwork and authority coordination.
Can I go solar with zero upfront cost?
Yes. Trexon offers 7+ financing options including 0% IPP via 12 credit card banks (3-24 months), bank green loans from 3.5% p.a., Islamic financing, hire purchase, BNPL, and PPA. Many customers finance 100% of their system and still save money from month one.
What warranty does Trexon provide?
Every Trexon installation includes a 25-year panel performance warranty (guaranteed minimum 80% output at year 25), 12-year product warranty on inverters and mounting, and 5-year workmanship warranty on installation. This exceeds the Malaysian industry standard of 10–15 years on panels only.
Do solar panels work on cloudy days or during rain?
Yes — solar panels continue generating electricity on cloudy days, typically at 10–25% of peak capacity. Malaysia's year-round sun means annual generation remains consistently strong even during monsoon seasons. At night, your home switches seamlessly to TNB grid power.
Is my roof suitable for solar panels?
Most Malaysian roofs are suitable. Start with our free remote roof analysis. To verify structure, shading, available area and electrical conditions in person, book the RM100 priority site visit; the full RM100 is credited to your Trexon project when you proceed.
What is SolaRIS and can I still get the RM4,000 rebate?
The SolaRIS government rebate programme of RM4,000 ended in April 2025. Applications are no longer accepted. However, solar is still highly worthwhile — payback periods of 5–7 years remain excellent, and Solar ATAP export credits continue to maximise your savings.
