Installing the panels takes only 1-2 days on site. So why does the whole process, from booking to TNB commissioning, typically take 6-10 weeks? The answer lies in the permitting process.
Phase 0: Booking and design
You confirm your system and pay the booking fee, and we prepare the system design from your TNB bill before any application is submitted.
Phase 1: Approvals (about Weeks 1-6)
Before any screw is drilled, we must submit the Solar ATAP application to SEDA. TNB then conducts a technical study to ensure the local grid can handle your export.
Phase 2: Installation (Days 1-2)
Our team arrives. Day 1: Railing and Panels. Day 2: Inverter, DC cabling, and testing. It's fast and minimally invasive.
Phase 3: Meter Change (about Weeks 6-10)
After installation, we submit the completion notification (Form B) to TNB. TNB will then come to swap your old meter for a bi-directional meter. Only after this meter swap can you turn on the system and start saving.
Phase 4: Activation
Once the new meter is in and TNB has commissioned the system, your system is switched on. Excess energy is then exported and credited at the Energy Charge on your bill, and unused credit is forfeited each month.
