Hidden Costs to Watch Out For
1. Meter Upgrade Fees
Our single-phase systems go up to 7.44 kWp (5 kWac inverter, the Solar ATAP single-phase limit). A larger system needs three-phase supply, and TNB sets the cost of the supply upgrade for your premises.
2. Scaffolding / Crane
For roofs higher than 2 storeys, safety regulations require scaffolding, which adds to the cost. We include it in your quote when it is needed.
Return on Investment (ROI)
With an average monthly TNB bill of RM 500, a 7.44 kWp system (from RM20,999) saves roughly RM 292/month (estimate on the RP4 tariff from 1 Jul 2025, before AFA, RE Fund and service tax; 3.5 sun-hours; about 40% of solar used at home, the rest exported and credited at the 27.03 sen Energy Charge (capped at what you import) for 10 years).
Payback Period: ~6.0 years. This already includes Solar ATAP export credits at the Energy Charge; unused credit is forfeited each billing period.
