What is a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)?

A PPA is a financial arrangement where a third-party developer (like Trexon or its partners) installs, owns, and operates a solar system on your property. You purchase the generated electricity at a fixed rate that is typically lower than the TNB tariff.

How much does a PPA cost upfront?

Zero. One of the main benefits of a PPA is that it requires no capital investment from the property owner. The developer covers all costs for equipment, installation, and maintenance.

Who is responsible for system maintenance in a PPA?

The system owner/developer is responsible for all maintenance, repairs, and monitoring throughout the duration of the agreement. This removes all technical and financial risk from the customer.

What happens at the end of a PPA term?

At the end of the 15-25 year term, you typically have the option to: (1) renew the agreement, (2) have the system removed, or (3) purchase the system at its residual value or even for a nominal fee (RM 1).
