Frequently Asked Questions

Everything your CSR team needs to know before committing to a partnership.

Is this CSR expenditure tax deductible?

Yes. Donations and contributions to approved rural electrification programs qualify for tax deduction under Section 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967. We can provide the necessary documentation. Please verify with your tax advisor for your specific structure.

How long does one village project take from agreement to completion?

Typically 3–5 months. Month 1: site survey and engineering design. Month 2–3: procurement and logistics. Month 4–5: installation and commissioning. We provide a milestone schedule with your partnership agreement.

How are villages selected? Can we choose the location?

You can specify a preferred region (state or district), and we will identify qualifying communities through our rural network. We work with local NGOs, JAKOA (Department of Orang Asli Affairs), and state rural development departments to verify community need and readiness.

How is the system monitored after handover?

All Standard and Premium systems include cloud-based monitoring accessible to your CSR team via a web dashboard. You receive monthly impact reports including kWh generated, uptime, faults resolved, and community usage data.

Can we brand the installation with our bank/foundation name?

Yes. All installations include signage with your organization's branding. Premium packages include a branded community hub plaque. We also produce a documentary-style video (5–8 minutes) of the installation for your communications team.

What is the minimum commitment?

Minimum one village project (Cahaya Basic at ~RM 32,000). Most corporate partners start with one Standard village (~RM 350,000) as a pilot, then scale across multiple villages over 3–5 years. Multi-village commitments receive priority scheduling.

What happens if equipment fails after the project?

All packages include a minimum 1-year warranty. Standard includes 2-year O&M, Premium includes 3-year O&M with a local-trained operator. After the warranty period, we offer affordable maintenance contracts to ensure long-term system uptime.

How does the ESG reporting work for Bursa disclosure?

We provide a structured ESG impact report aligned with GRI Standards, covering: direct beneficiaries, energy access metrics, CO2 avoidance, SDG mapping, and photographic/video documentation. This can be incorporated directly into your annual sustainability report.
