Solar ATAP — Malaysia's Net Billing Scheme

Effective January 2026, Solar ATAP replaces NEM. Here's how you save:

1

Self-Consumption

Use solar electricity during the day to reduce grid imports. The value depends on your tariff and when you use electricity.

2

Export Credits

Eligible residential exports receive Energy Charge credits, subject to ATAP settlement limits. Credits are not cash payments and do not remove every bill component.

3

10-Year Contract

The ATAP export-credit term is up to 10 years. After that, savings depend on self-consumption. Actual returns depend on generation, usage and your final installed cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a solar system cost in Malaysia?+

Complete solar systems start from RM 20,499 for a 6.82 kWp system with 11 Jinko 620 W N-Type panels. Your selected system size, inverter and optional battery are shown with their current price before the optional RM100 priority site visit, fully credited when proceeding.

How much can I save on my electricity bill?+

Most homeowners cut their TNB bill substantially on our RP4 model. For example, a RM 400/month bill can drop to about RM 169/month with a 6.20 kWp system (about RM231/month saved; estimate: 3.5 sun-hours, export credited at 27.03 sen for 10 years, excl. AFA). Your savings depend on system size, usage pattern, and roof orientation.

Will solar panels damage my roof?+

No. Our certified installers use non-penetrating mounting systems for tile roofs and sealed L-feet for metal roofs. The mounting actually protects your roof from direct sun exposure, extending its lifespan.

What is Solar ATAP and how does it work?+

Solar ATAP is Malaysia's net billing scheme (effective Jan 2026). You use solar power during the day and export excess to TNB for credits. Credits offset your bill — your minimum bill can go to RM 0. It's a 10-year contract with SEDA.

How long does installation take?+

Residential installations take 1-2 days. The full process from signing to TNB approval takes 4-8 weeks, mostly waiting for TNB meter swap. We handle all paperwork and applications.

Do I need a battery?+

Batteries are optional. Without a battery, you still save significantly through self-consumption and Solar ATAP export credits. Batteries add backup power during TNB outages and can store excess solar for evening use.
