What the RM500 buys
Not access to an engineer — a written record of your site. Every line below is something the survey produces and the report contains.
A written site visit report
A twelve-section engineering document with photographs of record: site plan, existing electrical system, roof assessment, equipment positions, cable routing, access and lifting logistics, and a sign-off page. It is yours to keep and to show to another installer if you choose.
Roof structural and mounting assessment
Roof profile, condition and orientation, and the mounting approach appropriate to it. On an industrial roof this is what decides whether the array is possible at all, not the electricity bill.
Switchroom, distribution board and cable route survey
Where the inverters and combiner boxes go, how the DC and AC runs reach them, and how the system ties into your existing boards. Photographed and marked up rather than described.
Maximum demand and power factor check
Your maximum demand read from the meter and cross-checked against your bill, because the ATAP scheme caps the system at your demand. We also check your power factor — if it is below the threshold you are paying a penalty that is cheap to fix independently of solar.
Shading and layout study
Plant, stacks, adjacent buildings and anything else that costs you generation, assessed on site rather than from an aerial photograph.
A sizing basis you can audit
The system size we recommend, with the arithmetic that produced it shown — your consumption, your demand ceiling and your usable roof area. Not a ballpark figure.
What it is not
- It is not a structural engineer’s certification. Where a roof needs a PE-endorsed load calculation we will say so in the report and quote that separately.
- It is not a guarantee that we will quote the work, or that a quote will suit you.
- It does not include opening or isolating live equipment. Any work on an energised board is arranged with your own electrician and your site safety rules.
How it runs
Book and pay
RM500 through Trexon's secure hosted gateway. We then contact your site to arrange access, because a survey needs your switchroom open and that usually means your own electrician present.
Engineer attends
Within 10 working days of cleared payment. Half a day on site: roof, switchroom, meter, cable routes and shading, photographed and marked up as we go.
You receive the report
Within 5 working days of the survey. Twelve sections, your photographs, and the arithmetic behind the system size we recommend.
RM500 credited
Proceed with Trexon within 90 days and the whole fee comes off your project. Net cost: RM0.
Do you need it?
Often not yet. We will size your system from your bills for free, and for many sites that is enough to decide whether solar is worth pursuing at all. Pay for the survey when you want a number you can put in front of a board.

Questions
Why is this RM500 when the residential visit is RM100?
Because it is a different piece of work. A house takes ninety minutes and the roof is visible from the ground. A commercial site takes half a day, needs the switchroom open, involves metering and demand data, and produces a written engineering document rather than a quote. The fee covers the engineer's time and the report; it is not a booking deposit.
What do I actually keep if I do not go ahead with Trexon?
The report. It is written as an engineering record of your site, not as a sales document, and it is yours. If you take it to another installer that is your right — we would rather be chosen on the work than on having withheld information.
Do you refund it?
Yes, in full, if we cannot serve your site, if we miss the agreed window, or if you cancel at least twenty-four hours before the visit. The fee is credited in full against your project if you proceed within 90 days.
Can you survey more than one premises?
Each premises is surveyed and reported separately, because each has its own TNB account, its own demand ceiling and its own roof. Tell us how many sites you have and we will quote the survey accordingly rather than charging per visit blindly.
Is this a structural certification?
No. It assesses the roof and the mounting approach and photographs what it finds. Where a project needs a professional engineer’s endorsed load calculation, the report says so and we quote that separately rather than implying it is covered.
